Transformative Self-Care - 6-Week Yoga Workshop 

Join us for Transformative Self-Care, a 6-week immersive yoga workshop designed to integrate yoga, psychoeducation, and journaling into a sustainable self-care practice. Each session combines mindfulness tools, gentle movement, and guided reflection to help you nurture your mind, body, and spirit.

Dates: Saturdays, March 1 – April 5, 2025

Time: 9 AM EST

Location: Virtual

Group Size: 5-15 participants

Cost: $50 per session or $250 bundle for all 6 sessions

Workshop Structure

Each 90-minute session includes:

  • Psychoeducation: Learn how yoga and related practices impact the body and mind.

  • Discussion & Journaling: Reflect on key themes like stress, emotional balance, and daily rituals.

  • Yoga Instruction: Explore specific asanas, breathwork, and mindfulness techniques tailored to the weekly focus.

  • Homework: Journaling and gentle practices to integrate learning throughout the week.

Weekly Themes & Highlights

Week 1: Yoga for Stress Management

  • Focus: Breathwork and the nervous system

  • Learn to manage stress with breath techniques like Ujjayi breath. Understand how yoga philosophy (Yamas & Niyamas) supports well-being.

  • Journal Prompt: Reflect on Ahimsa (non-harming) and Santosha (contentment).

Week 2: Yoga for Better Sleep (Facilitator: Jacqui)

  • Focus: Asanas and sleep hygiene

  • Practice restorative poses to improve sleep quality and establish bedtime rituals.

  • Journal Prompt: Explore Satya (truthfulness) and Saucha (purity).

Week 3: Yoga for the Modern Body (Facilitator: Cynthia)

  • Focus: Asana and serotonin - reconnecting with the senses

  • Energizing flows, including seated or chair-based options, to relieve fatigue, “text neck,” and back pain.

  • Discussion: Notice bodily sensations and how they anchor us to the present.

  • Journal Prompt: Bramacharya (balance) and Svadhyaya (self-study).

Week 4: Yoga for Digestion (Facilitator: Jacqui)

  • Focus: Doshas and the gut-brain connection

  • Discover poses and practices that support digestive health and reduce stress-related gut discomfort.

  • Journal Prompt: Reflect on Asteya (non-stealing) and Tapas (discipline).

Week 5: Yoga for Emotional Balance (Facilitator: Shani)

  • Focus: Meditation and mindfulness

  • Cultivate emotional stability through meditation, breath awareness, and mindfulness tools.

  • Journal Prompt: Aparigraha (non-possessiveness) and Isvara Pranidhana (surrender).

Week 6: Yoga as a Daily Ritual (Facilitators: Group-led)

  • Focus: Building a sustainable self-care routine

  • Reflect on yoga’s role in personal and community care. Develop a daily ritual to carry forward into your life.
