Lyra Tomljanovich, Student Therapist
About Me
Lyra is currently accepting new clients.
Lyra Tomljanovich is a Mental Health Counseling Intern currently earning her degree in Mental Health Counseling at the George Washington University. She obtained a bachelors' degree from Boston University in psychology and womens' studies. Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. As a counseling intern, my goal is to make you feel seen, heard and understood. I am here to meet you where you are as you come into the counseling space, and to allow your strengths and tools for growth to blossom.
I use a RCT (relational-cultural) and strengths-based oriented approach, which means that I take into account the world around you, and acknowledge that you do not exist in a vacuum. I also allow you to tell me your strengths, and may reframe what you are telling me in order to offer you a different perspective. I have 10+ years of experience working with children in different settings, and one of my specialties as a counseling intern is working with children and adolescents.
As a neurodivergent and LGBT counselor, I feel as if I am able to relate to clients who may share these identities in order to assist them on their journeys. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my cat, reading as much as possible, watching the latest movies, and getting creative however I can!
